אז כפי שחלק מכם יודעים, אנחנו מטיילות במרכז אמריקה. לא יודעת אם לכתוב בדפבית שלי או להתחיל דפבלוג. בדרך כלל לא יכולה לכתוב בעברית אז אולי יהיה קשה באמת לכתוב. לא משנה ולא חשוב אני מתארת. יש לנו בלוג "אמיתי" בו בעיקר טריניטי כותבת ובעיקר מפורסמות שם תמונות שלנו מהטיול. זה המקור העיקרי לדעת מה קורה איתנו, איפה אנחנו, מה אנחנו רואות, חוות

יש המון לכתוב ולספר. המון מחשבות על העתיד. במיוחד מה נעשה כשנחזור מהחופשה הארוכה. אחת האפשרויות היא לקנות חלקת אדמה איפהשהו ולהתחיל משק אורגני, מרכז "מחקר" אקולוגי, בית הארחה (איך שאומרים בעברית guesthouse ובספרדית hospedaje). לרכז את החיים סביב האדמה ואורח החיים הטבעי. להיות בבית. לעבוד מהבית. לגדל את האוכל שלנו. לקדם פרוייקטים חברתיים/אקולוגיים. להיות באזור יפה ועשיר במשאבים אנושיים וטבעיים.
תקציר הארועים.
עזבנו את ישראל ב 9.2 והיינו בניקרגואה עד לפני מספר ימים (17.4). אהבנו את ניקרגואה ואת זה ניתן לראות, אני מקווה מהתמונות. הגענו לקוסטה ריקה ואנחנו בדרכנו למקום בדרום הים הקריבי (צד דרומי מזרחי של קוסטה ריקה) שנקרא פונטה מונה. יש שם "קהילה מוכוונת" (Intentional Community) שמסקרנת אותנו (www.puntamona.org) ואנחנו מתכננות להיות שם כמה שבועות. עד כה, התוכניות שלנו "לא היו שוות" יותר מדי מכיוון שהן משתנות כל הזמן. אבל זה תמיד לטובה. תמיד מופתעות ממה שמגלות ומוצאות ושמחות על השינויים הלא צפויים בתוכנית.
אני לקחתי היום כמה שעות "חופש" מהמשפחה. נסעתי באופניים מסביב לחוף הקטן בו אנחנו נמצאות כרגע.
כבר צריכה להפסיק לכתוב עכשיו. יש הרבה מחשבות בראש והרבה לשתף אבל כנראה אצטרך לעשות זאת בהמשכים, לא הכל בבת אחת.

איזה כיף לקרוא! אנחנו כפי שאמרתי, בפונטה מונה. www.puntamona.org. לצערי קצת מאכזב. הקהילה הקבועה במקום מאוד קטנה ולא מנוסה. הם הולכים על הקו הדק בין באמת קהילה שרוצה ויכולה (!) לחיות מהאדמה ובאופן בר קיימא, לבין לקיים את העסק שלהם שכמו רוב קוסטה ריקה מבוסס על תיירות. אז מה שרואים כאן זאת חווה ענקית מקסימה ופורה מצד אחד ומצד שני סירה שמביאה המון פירות וירקות (יקרים) מהעיר הקטנה. חוץ משאר מוצרי המזון והנוחות שכנראה עדיין לא מסוגלים כאן לחיות בלעדם, או לקיים את התיירות בלעדם. הרשימה ארוכה, אז רק באופן חלקי, חמאת בוטנים, חמאת קשיו, מספר סוגים של פסטה אורגנית, תוספי מזון למנהם, גז לבישול בלי הגבלה (למרות שיש להם גז זמין מהשירותים הביולוגיים שבמקום, אף אחד משום מה לא משתמש בלהבה החינמית הזאת), ארוחות ענקיות כמעט ללא מוצרי הבסיס של האוכלוסיה המקומית כאן (שזה כמובן.... אורז, שעועית, בננות ירוקות, יוקה, וכו'). ועוד ועוד ועוד. התכוונו להיות כאן שלושה שבועות ולפחות ולצערנו, שוב המציאות מוכיחה אחרת... ביום רביעי יש ליקו יומולדת, אז נשאר ונחגוג כאן, ואז בסוף השבוע כנראה נעזוב

yes, we are still in nicaragua! hard to leave this beautiful country. already twice we were on our way to costa rica just to change our plans and head back north. first time we were in san juan del sur (actually, in a nearby, most amazing pacific ocean beach, playa madera--see a few photos attached), very close to the costa rican border, and we wanted to travel back to leon thru masaya. we ended up traveling to a beach (los zorros) very close actually to the honduran border, where we spent the last four days of semana santa (the holy week before easter sunday) at tina's guesthouse, a woman from san francisco who bought a small piece of land by the pacific ocean last year. it was really nice and a very relaxing and sane way to pass this crazy time of the year (literally all nicaraguans are traveling that week, mostly spending time with their families on the beach). after los zorros we planed to travel to costa rica! oh well, so much for planning while you are traveling. next we knew it, we found ourselves on the bus to boaco... a region somewhat in the middle of the country which trinity was curious about. boaco itself wasn't very interesting for us since it's sort of a cowboy town with lots of meat eateries and very heavy on dairy products, too. but our actual destination was the small scenic village of san jose de los remates. surrounded by mountains, rivers, natural reserves, small and large farms, this is where we are based since tuesday. we are staying with a nicaraguan family: jorge, celia, hilary, and jorge junior. it's great to stay with them!!! yacu enjoys playing with the kids and celia's delicious cuisine. we are taking walks and horse rides in the nearby parks, swimming in rivers and refreshing in waterfalls. yesterday we took a long talk to the river with celia, and had the honor of visiting her family farm (you'll see yacu helping to sort the corn! ). we were impressed by the simple lifestyle of her three brothers that live on the farm with their families (a lifestyle, as you know, we have witnessed before), and also by their wisdom and ancient knowledge of the land, plants (including medicinal plants), animals, and natural resources. totally living a sustainable, self-sufficient life (if you don't take into account the toilet paper they buy in town...). however, the most amazing moment was when one of the cows was giving birth as we were getting ready to leave (you can see her licking her newborn baby in one of the photos). heck, we were so amazed that we didn't leave on time for the bus, which meant a long 2.5 hour walk back to the village... we were lucky to catch, after 1.5 hours, the milk truck heading back to the village to deliver some fresh organic milk (lot of the farms around san jose de LR are organic!). yesterday i also had the pleasure, finally, to learn how to make tortillas. the 'price' was waking up at 5am (not so bad considering we go to bed here around 9pm...) so that i can do it all from scratch with celia's mother who lives next door. everybody agreed during breakfast that my tortillas were yummy! (as if they had a choice....).
anyway, as you can see, life is good (and so is yours in case you have forgotten!). one thing we are constantly reminded of here is that we really don't have any problems. we are so fortunate and should be so grateful for everything we have!!! can you really complain that you have sand in your bed to someone who just lost all of their bean crop (and subsequently their livelihood) since the rain came early this year ('thanks,' of course, to global warming)? 'no complaining' is a big part of this culture. they know better. one other 'lesson' is that everything is happening for a reason. or as we say in hebrew 'hakol letova.' whatever happens, there is something good at the end, something to learn, an interesting person to come across, a new destination to discover, time to stop and reflect, play, etc. this is why we have learned that while it is okay to make plans, it is by far more important to learn to really let go of the plans if one have to. and this is almost a daily experience here. a very powerful and important realization, in our opinion.

so what is our next plan you are asking... so... tomorrow we are thinking to head out back toward managua, the capital, where we plan to do some shopping on sunday and take a bus to san jose, the capital of costa rica on monday. on our way to managua we are planning (ha ha ha) to stop for a few hours to soak in a natural hot spring not too far from here. this will be our third or fourth stop in managua, but the first we plan to actually spend some time there.

בדיוק היום שמעתי על פונטה מונה מאמא של בחור ישראלי ששהה שם תקופה ארוכה והקים את מערכת הצי'נמפות. רציתי לספר לכן על המקום אבל אני רואה שכבר הייתן. היא באמת ספירה שקשה שם ליצור קהילה מתמידה ולמצוא אנשים שלוקחים מחוייבות לטפח את המקום כי התנאים שם לא קלים ואין הרבה כסף ובכל זאת נראה מקום מדהים, מקווה שדעתכן על המקום השתנתה ויכולתם לתרום יותר. היא הראתה תמונות איך הם בנו את מערכת הצ'ינמפות וזה פרוייקט ראוי להערכה רבה.

פה אנחנו מבלים עם ג'ון (ג'ונפו היה קצת ארוך לנו) לוקחים אותה לכל מקום , נראה לי שבחודשיים או כבר 3 שהיא פה היא הספיקה לטייל איתנו המון ואפילו פעם 1 התייבשה לנו בטיול במכתש רמון.....
היא מתוקה אמיתית וכולנו אוהבים אותה מאוד.

we are still here... still in Leon. unfortunately, the wireless internet at our hotel does not work, so i have to use an internet cafe, hence the english... anyway, a lot is happening. we´ve been looking all over the ares for land. seen almost 25 farms so far. we are going through a lot of ups and downs. can´t seem to find a routine that will satisfy us all. for the first three weeks we had rental cars/pickup trucks so we were on the road a lot, driving around. now we are based in a very comfortable hotel in leon, but still struggling to keep happy routine... the last week was especially difficult. we´ve decided so many times over the past week, that we are leaving nicaragua and stopping looking for land, leaving our dream behind for now... instead we thought we´d go to the US to check out a few intentional communities there. as seniora luck wants, again we weren´t able to change our flight so we went out to the campo (country side) today and looked at two very interesting places. we even made an offer for one of them (it´s the second time we see this place). we might stay a little longer after all.... other than that, we would like to take a cob workshop this summer, but everything is so tentative with us
if we end up getting land here, we would like to look for families to come down with us to realize our dream together. the dream is common and we can read about it all over this site, so i won´t repeat it now. when the time is right, we will write more and talk about it, if relevant, of course
so i need to go and take a shower from this hot day and long walk in the campo. i will write more later....

michlul--punta mona is beautiful and we also met itai there, the guy you are talking about. but as i said, it´s really a business and many decisions they make they need to make so many compromises to keep the paying guests happy (like buying lots of expensive food from outside to meet certain criteria for american meals...) that it doesn´t really go together with simple living, etc. anyway, it was a good experience and every example is good--we learn a lot. the one thing that was totally difficult there was the bugs... we got so many bites, that several nights i had to take pain killers to be able to sleep and not scratch my legs... we will post the blog from punta mona and costa rica soon and i will include the link here
